The Sakhr AX170 Cyberdeck Build Part 3

Parts, parts, parts. I received most of the parts in the mail that I need for the build, now I can really start to work on this. I didn’t have enough parts in my junk pile to make custom cables for the external connections and buying all the bits to make them would have been pretty expensive. So I opted for pre-made cables, which puts some constraints on placement, but after doing some test fitting of all the parts I think I can make it all work.

The parts

In the picture you can see the 5 volt power supply in the upper left with the dual input DC-DC converter below that will allow me to use both wall power and battery power. The red bit in the lower left is the heat sink that will eventually surround the Raspberry Pi. The black box in the middle is a USB hub and silver part on the right is a removable drive bay for the SSD that I will install. I like to have multiple OS images for different purposes and having that drive bay will make it easy to swap drives without having to open the case every time. The cables are HDMI, USB and Ethernet connections to the outside of the case.
I still need to work on the internal connections between the cartridge slots and the Raspberry Pi but I think this will be the general layout of the interior. Now, time to get to work.
